"The room was transformed into a WW1 trench, where the children could experience what life was like for the soldiers. There was a wide variety of authentic artefacts for the children to explore, and the knowledge and professional of staff was second to none"
Our WW1 workshops are an inspiring way to introduce the Great War to your pupils, or an exciting experience to reinforce the topics they have already covered. Our aim is simple; bring WW1 to life in the heart of your classroom.
Our WW1 workshops are tailored to your learning objectives and school timetable to make sure we meet all your group requirements. We can run several sessions in one day, and tailor each session to the needs of each group.
Pupils will have the opportunity to handle a range of genuine and replica objects in the safety of your classroom.
Our workshops are suitable for all age ranges and are tailored accordingly:
KS2, KS3, KS4
What will you learn?
Just some of the topics we can cover:
Causes of WW1

Hygiene
Kit, equipment & weapons
Wounds and treatments
Looking for a medical specific WW1 workshop?
We offer specially designed immersive workshops for those schools covering the Edexcel specification The British sector of the Western Front, 1914–18: injuries, treatment and the trenches or the AQA specification Modern medicine: The impact of war and technology on surgery.
These workshops follow the principles of all our workshops (engaging, immersive & hands-on) but are tailored to meet the learning objectives of the specifications.

What teachers say
“Thank you so much for the history workshop you provided today for our Year 5 classes.
The children loved seeing the artefacts you brought.
It was particularly nice that you included a section on local history, drawing their attention to some local heroes and monuments.
The whole day was a lovely opportunity for our children to consolidate what they learnt in our recent history topic, as well as developing this learning with resources and knowledge beyond what we could supply in the classroom.”
‘’I am just emailing to say thank you very much for today's sessions. The pupils really enjoyed the presentation and were talking about it for the rest of the day.’’
